Skiing On and Off the Beaten Tracks
In winter, any skier will enjoy marvellous conditions on the Engadine region's excellently prepared ski pistes. You will find varied pistes in the Diavolezza, Piz Lagalb, Languard, Muottas Muragl, Corvatsch/Furtschellas and Corviglia/Marguns areas. Your ultimate experience on 350km of pistes!

Diavolezza / Bernina
The Diavolezza and Lagalb transport systems are very close to Pontresina. From Pontresina, Diavolezza is within easy reach by car, bus or the Rhaetian Railway. At 3,000m above sea level, Diavolezza affords splendid views of 4,000m mountain peaks, ski pistes with plenty of snow and the longest signposted and secured ski piste on a glacier. Another highlight in the Diavolezza area is moonshine skiing in the period from December to March. Of course, the Diavolezza transport system also operates in the summer season, taking hikers and glacier climbers up to the mountains.

Lagalb
Located only a stone's throw from Diavolezza, and along the Bernina mountain pass, the Lagalb area attracts expert skiers, carvers and snowboarders. From Piz Lagalb, a peak almost 3,000m high, there is an extensive network of challenging pistes.

With Piz Lagalb and Diavolezza so close to each other, it is an obvious choice to use the free "Pendolino" service to commute between the two areas on a single day. From Pontresina, Lagalb is accessible by a small ski-lift, by train, car or Engadin Bus.

Languard

In summer, Alp Languard is the perfect starting point for memorable panoramic hikes amidst the mountain goats and marmots. The fastest and easiest way for hikers to reach their starting altitude is to take Languard chairlift up to 2,325 m.a.s.l. At cozy Alp Languard Restaurant, one can treat oneself to regional specialties and an incomparable view of Piz Palü and the Bernina range. During the high season, musical entertainment is scheduled here regularly.

In winter, Languard field is the main focus of activity. This sunny skiing area is located right at the heart of Pontresina and is ideal for families and beginners. A skiing lift and a "pony" lift allow for the perfect initiation into the art of skiing, snowboarding, etc. In separately marked zones and the "Kinderland" area of the Snowsports School, professional skiing instructors teach children their first steps on their way to a perfect swing. The restaurant with it's sun terrace is open daily until 4 pm.
